Colleen Libbey grew up in Ketchikan, Alaska. She attended the University of Idaho and Wayland Baptist University. Before heading to law school she married her now law partner, Dan Libbey. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Law, where she graduated With Honors and served as Editor in Chief of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. Following law school, she clerked for the Anchorage Superior Court and later worked at a local law firm practicing insurance defense. During her initial time in private practice, she realized she wanted to transition from insurance defense to personal injury claimant work so she could help those being wronged by the abusive practices of the insurance industry. To accomplish her goal of helping those disadvantaged, she joined Libbey Law Offices, LLC. Her practice is focused on serving personal injury clients. Colleen is dedicated to educating herself and others regarding the ever-changing legal landscape of personal injury practice. For many years she has been an active participant in the Alaska Trial Lawyers (formerly the Alaska Association of Justice and Alaska Academy of Trial Lawyers). From 2016-2018 she served as the Education Committee Chair and Vice-President of the Alaska Trial Lawyers. She is currently serving as the President of the Alaska Trial Lawyers. She has served as adjunct faculty at Wayland Baptist University teaching various legal courses. When she is not enjoying practicing law, she enjoys yoga, skiing, reading, and otherwise spending time with her family. She also enjoys participating in fitness fundraising activities with her husband.
